--Planted by the Kings.

--Planted by the Mocks: Minot, North Dakota.

Design 4
A classic example of terracing for flood control. A terrace connecting
a lower patio with an upper patio using a stairway. Click here to view from the bottom (~80KB). --Planted by the Haskell's.

Xeriscape design
A combination terrace, which extends off a patio into a plateau terrace. Because the terrace design employs drought-resistant plants in an effort to conserve resources, especially water, it is known as a xeriscape design. Click here for a more detailed view of the terrace from another angle (~85 KB).
--Planted by the Hornings, Bismarck, ND.
